Getting Started With Interns
February 16, 2010
8:30 – 10 a.m.
Columbus Chamber Office
150 S. Front Street, Columbus
Internships can be a win-win proposition for both students and employers. To help interested organizations launch successful internship programs, the Columbus Chamber will offer a series of workshops for local business leaders. The Columbus Chamber supports internships because they strengthen the business community.
Join the Columbus Chamber’s intern consultant, Dave Cofer, as he conducts this introductory workshop on how best to leverage interns in your business. This is the ideal session for any organization (for-profit and non-profit) that is considering the use of interns and wants to learn more. Why consider interns you ask? First, interns represent a great opportunity to introduce short-term, flexible resources into your business that can address needs such as the completion of key projects and/or essential improvements to how you do business. Second, you can offer a young person the important opportunity to obtain valuable work experience.
During this session, Dave will introduce fundamentals of launching an internship program. In addition, every organization in attendance can work 1:1 with Dave to craft an outline of the internship position description/posting.
Cost: Free for Chamber members, $25 for non-members.
